Education
Along with the environment, education is the main focus of our corporate social responsibility work. There's a good reason for this. A thriving society is crucial to our success as a bank – and education is crucial to a thriving society.
We concentrate on three key areas:
- Disadvantaged children
- Financial and business literacy
- Environmental education and understanding
A good example of the kind of work we do is Future First, a flagship educational programme for disadvantaged children, which we launched in 2006. It provides access to education and teaches life skills to deprived and excluded children, whether on the streets, orphaned or in care.
